Hmm. Well, depends on how you look at it, I guess. "Matter" is Schmidt solo, and on "Cloned" it seems to me the only reason he had the others you mention on it doing remixes was because of the cloning concept of the album. As far as I know, all the guest contributions to "Render" are pretty negligible.

I'd be interested to hear why you liked this. I tried several times to get into it and it came across as extremely dry--sort of lacking the character and sheer-out refined aggression of Matter and Cloned. He seems to have turned his love for precise drum programming into a bit of a fetish on recent albums; I can't really think of *anyone* who programs his beatboxes with such intricate patterns. Unfortunately, he seems to have left out the larger picture, and I think the recent stuff will have a shorter shelf-life than the older stuff. If he would just integrate his two seemingly mutually exclusive styles I'd be oh so happy. (Whatever, man--he's brilliant :-) AND he'd give Mr. James a good run for his money! Great to see him FINALLY being discussed on this list, too...) Ashok
