So I finally got a copy of this CD (for $5! There are some real deals in Goldmine if you look hard enough). For anyone who hasn't heard it, imagine the introductory music of the "Pac-Man" video game, speed it up a bit, loop it, and add the beat of MBM's "Radio Babylon" and some other game-related noise to it. That's about it. There's parts where the melody goes half the speed of the loop, but not much else. One of the remixes is of the "almost a completely different song" variety and it's not that good. The others are much better, the best being "Mickey Finn's Yum Yum Mix," which jazzes things up quite a bit and is generally more interesting than the original. Fairly thin recording. Revolting artwork. In short, if you think Richard James is annoying now, you should know that he's been making annoying songs for quite a while. :-) Seriously, it's a fun novelty, reminds me of when I was 10, pouring my hard-earned allowance into those ever-present machines. However, I don't expect to be playing it very often, as it would probably drive me insane (which is a strange statement to be making as I sit here humming "Ventolin" :-).
