Here are some brief reviews of the two Jimi Tenor shows in NYC: MINIMAL thursday I walked into Jimi's set as he was playing a Silver flute along to Sequences in his Yamaha QY20, very loungy beats and bass lines. He then went into jammin organ sounds on a cz101. On his third song (per his request) an attractive girl poured hima glass of champagne which he downed it and tipped the glass to the crowd, mumbling something that i couldn't understand. I was spinning int the other room so I didn't see the rest of the show. RANCHO RELAXO @ CELL Sunday 12-17-95 For those of you who have not attended a RANCHO RELAXO event --- Among our collective we all show up with a bag a records and a few pieces of gear. Throughout the night we put together improv live jams and fade them in and out between DJs. Last week we did a RANCHO RELAXO ALL-STARS vs. SAHKO @ the ULTRASCALL in Munich. Panasonic was amazing. @ CELL Jimi placed his QY20 among our gear and did a three song set which climaxed with 'take me baby' backed with a 606 and 303. possibly the most entertaining performer among the 'electronica' scene. dietrich
