I understand ASH has a compilation called "Mesmer Variations" out, but since a review in The Wire treated it like a butcher treats meat, I thought I could ask this enlightened list for some info. So, did you hate it? Love it? I'd love to know. Also, I've seen a mid-priced Touch-sampler mentioned in the latest Rough Trade ad. Is this in fact "Mesmer Variations"? Or something completely different? Heard it? Liked it? Who is on it? Want to know. Thanks! /Oivind Idso/

No they are two different releases both freaturing music from Ash artist and friends like: Halfer Trio, Gescom, Drome, Sandoz, Scanner to name a few. Mesmer is a 2xCD whereas the Touch sampler is only one. I have both but I've been so busy I haven't been able to listen to either yet. There have been so many good releases in the last few months of '95... So much music so little time. Hope that helps! -->-Lance--- mclance@en.com
