Just got this from the Mixmag page, no-one had mentioned it so i thought
i would:
BJORK has formed an electronic supergroup, collaborating with some of the
underground techno scene's brightest talents. The Icelandic songstress
will be working on new material with a group comprising of Scanner,
Plaid, Stasis and the Irdial label, the intention being to perform a
one-off show in London at the end of January. The ensemble will be hitting the
studio in the next few weeks to prepare, and the possibility of the music
being released on record has not been ruled out. According to Scanner,
AKA Robin Rimbaud, it was Bjork who approached the collective. "It's an
alternative for her," he told Update, "she wants to do some more off the
wall projects. "It's going to be very experimental," he continued. "One
piece is going to be 35-40 minutes long. We're sorting out a stage set,
it'll be quite a theatrical presentation. She's going to be singing along
with us as we do it, so it'll be like Emerson Lake & Palmer. Or maybe
Darren Emerson Lake & Palmer." The news comes as something of a surprise
after Bjork and Scanner's protracted troubles over her sampling one of
his tracks, but Rimbaud explained that the argument was never between the
two artists, and that they both respected the other's work. On the
question of whether the music would see light of day on vinyl, Plaid's Ed
Hanley offered: "That's definitely a possibility. We've just got to write the
music first and see how that goes."
Comments anyone? It'll be interesting, that's for sure!
