Probably not what you are looking for, but I couldn't help but think of some of the OLD Public Enemy lps such as It Takes a Nation of Millions and Fear of a Black Planet. You asked for angry, but intelligent lyrics over noisy but well-produced music that's agressive, complex, angry and full of ENERGY. That sounds exactly like the old Public Enemy to me. Chuck D, Hank, and Keith Shocklee of the Bomb Squad were so ahead of their time back then. They wanted their music to be as noisy, loud, and angry as possible. Hence, song titles such as Bring the Noise and songs that used noises such as Rebel Without a Pause and Brothers Gonna Work It Out. When I first heard Rebel Without a Pause I thought "What the hell is that sound they keep looping? A tea kettle whistle?" If for no other reason, I just had to mention Public Enemy out of respect. Rage Against the Machine wouldn't even exist if there was never a PE. -- shephrd@earthlink.net | "...thita NK;" "...mechanically reclaimed by autechre..."
