I just got my WWW system set up, (which is a bitch and a half to do on an Amiga heheh) and now I'm looking for some nice sites. I'm basically looking for sites to FTP to and WWW to, in order to pick of audio samples from CDs. I'm also looking for the Warp site... (I know, I forgot!) Any suggestions? Oh, I picked up the Putney2 sample from Hyperreal yesterday, and it's in some format called .mp2 ... can somebody tell me what that is? Is it like mpeg compression, on in an audio format? I downloaded an MPEG 2 file of a Severed Heads remix a while back, and was able to decode and play it on the Amiga. Take a look around AmiNet. The main site is on http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/, I think pub/aminet. It took about 18 hours to decode a 4.5M file into a 45M file on a 25MHz 68030, and the punch line was the remix was lame.
