Just thought I'd start a thread ;) Everyone looks at the cutout bins in various stores, I'm sure. So what have you all found which totally blew you away? That is, did you ever find something really rare or just something really good, for an obsenely low price? My examples: I found Dreamfish for nine bucks, Young American Primitive for eight, Ravesignal III for three, Dubnobass... for six, and the kicker....Analogue Bubblebath 3 for ten! ------------------------------------------------------------ | Bob Weisend | "I'm not an actor, | | rweisend@oboe.aix.calpoly.edu | but I play one | | http://www.calpoly.edu/~rweisend | on TV." | ------------------------------------------------------------

I found Philosophy of Sound and Machine in a Tower clearance bin for less than $10. I know that's not REAL cheap but I hear they are going for beaucoup bucks these days. I know Suzanne Heinrichs (LURKER!!!) found one at the Tower Clearance store in Manhattan too! I was in London a couple of months ago, and as usual, I shopped till I dropped. Anyway, at this little shop in Camden Town next to the Goodmixers pub, I found an autographed copy of Gary Numan's Beserker LP for 50p!!! I had seen autographed copies of Numan records throughout my shopping for moderate prices, but 50p? The store owner didn't seem to mind giving it away so cheap. +++++++ John A. jknee@gwis2.circ.gwu.edu Rickman +++++++

I just walked into this shop once and they had the bins all sorted out into stuff that I really wanted and had been searching for for years, stuff that I'd eagerly anticipated listening to, and stuff they knew I'd never heard of but would be interested in. They rolled out a red carpet and lead me to the cleanest sounding hi-fi ever and let me listen to all the records, bringing me the odd caviar nibble and glass of bubbly. Occasionally, when I tired, they chopped out a line for me and wiped the crud from my nostrils. They chauffeured me home where, to my delight, they'd built an extension to hold my new records. They charged me nothing for this. And apologised for the inconvenience. Carl

Got it at Gramophone Records in Chicago. Don't have the number handy though. You know what also just came out and just kills, Transmissions from Planet Dog. It's domestic on Mammoth. Double disc for 14 bucks! It's got 4 songs by Banco de Gaia, 4 by Eat Static, 5 by timeshard and 3 by children of the bong. Wowsy! I also saw a new disc by somebody on R&S/Apollo records. I think it's called "Uvead (place other word here)" I think the last word is 6 letters long. It's got a bright pink and blue cover and it's done by somebody relatively well-known. Anybody have a clue?

Probably Uzect Plaush's _More Beautiful Human Life_ by German ambient maestro Paul Schutze. Check out that pre-Aphexual anagramming! :) - Matthew "I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you can't imagine. That is techno at its best. If you hear something that you'd never expect to hear - that's techno. If you hear something that kind of sounds like you've heard it before, then it's not techno." - Jeff Mills

Caberet Voltaire: _Easy Life_ 12" on Parlophone with "Easy Life" (Jive Turkey Mix - Mark Brydon and Rob [God] Gordon) "Fluid" "Postive ID" The best 3 techno tracks *ever* produced(?). For 99p.
