This dj's last appearance on Friday at The Garden (Roseland annex bit)
will feature some of the programming that is taking over his dj'-ing time.
Also featured will be his old bay-area friend dj Spun...
Pasta will be headlining in the early hours and close the thing probably and
will play extremely challenging music, though whether it will be hard or
ambient or what he seems to be keeping a mystery.... However, he does
tend to start at the WARP/IDM headspace and work toward insanity from
there...
Thanks for the bandwidth on this rather localized announcement, and
thanks to IDM'ers who post all of these reviews since I gave up trying to
glean IDM'ish release info from the (abmissmally-cliqueish) local
dj-social-scene. :-/ <sigh>
On another topic:
I don't mind the "IDM = Intelligent Dance Music" acronym, actually. I
waited a long time for this music to emerge: I like the proclamation of
blatantly electronic timbres and exclusively instrumental and textural
focus.
