Based on what albums? I would admit earlier Xymox like "Clan of Xymox" and "Medusa" may not be idm but more recent releases such as "Headclouds" and "Metamorphosis" could arguably be classed idm. Steve

My main intention in mentioning the above in the way I did was simply to point out some really nice artwork for a different sort of music. I was basically nitpicking. Clan of Xymox (as opposed to Xymox) *were* dance music, with far less ambient content than most artists discussed here, and their record were VERY intelligent. The later albums could more arguably be classed as idiotic dance mulch. It is so full of convention and attitude, I personally consider it *far* below the standard of almost anything discussed on this list. It is basically nothing but horrid throwaway pop/new-wave. Early Clan of Xymox, however, though full of singing and very lush atmospherics and percussion, is highly danceable and brilliant. Not all *that* thislisty, but equal to let's say Opus III, Cabaret Voltaire, Bel Canto, the infamous _5ep_, etc. All of whom also boast some pretty nice album art. *raspberries* einexile

Xymox first left Holland, then Ankie left Xymox, becauz Ronnie was a bore... Haven't heard from him for a long time, be intresting to heard what he makes... Better check out ex- Xymox Pieter Nooten's stuff out though... You can find sleevescans, info and sound samples in http://www.riv.nl/yuliana. Look for Hypercycle...That's the label he's with...
