your foresight is commendable :)

maybe his arrogance appealed? ;) or the fact that media saturation transformed a series of bad acid tracks by a white student drop-out into a commercial commodity? ;) either way, he's such an obvious choice for sire, pirelli or any multi-national corporation.

that's true too, though my own grandchildren love to play my transmat records when their friends say how great the music on the pirelli advert is.. ciao, *des* ps - i hope all you teenagers out there, still love richard james when he features in next year's pirelli calendar.

Like most casual Aphex flames, your post is far too asinine to deserve a response, but I've reached the limit of my tolerance. Do you really believe he's such an obvious choice for "any multi-national corporation?" I'd like to hear why. I'm expecting a stellar example of the kind of paranoid, inverted reasoning that the parasitic pop culture intelligentsia depend on to rationalize their tiresome cycles of hype and slander. You won't disappoint me, will you? It might be entertaining if you could also supply the equally convoluted argument you would use to convince us of his genius if here were still laboring anonymously on obscure labels. Is there any way to create something like a kill file in Pine to filter out all the messages by people dumb enough to think that they'll impress anyone by slagging Richard? I often wonder why people are so eager to trumpet their magnificent idiocies in the most public forum they can find; such opinions are clearly the domain of constipated intellects. Richard's music is among the most expressive electronic music ever created. Those eager to dismiss him as a flaky hack would do well to accept the fact that there is some music they simply don't have the equipment to understand. p.s. IDM is getting pretty toasty these days, no?

i take it you're not exactly a fan of the 'Phex, then :) either way, he's such an obvious choice for sire,

Why? I came across the high point of this Pirelli advert saga when flicking through one of the latest NME's. Apparently Warp's offices had been flooded wit calls from RDJ addicts waniting to purchase the VERY limited 4" promo of this ad, entitled 'Tyre Trax'. One person even offered up to 80 quid ! The reason it was so limited was simple, it was 'Vibes' Single Of The Week in the issue dated April 1st, and of course never excisted ! All at NME Towers and Warp offices all had a good laugh at this April Fools - me included :)! Repeating once again : 'Tyre Trax' does *N O T* excist, to my knowledge at least. (but if anyone comes over a copy, drop me a line .... :) Cheers Oyvers ------------------------------------------------------------------- Oeyvind Eggen -------------------------------------------------------------------
