I recently got a rap 12" with a very sample-able instrumental b-side. Damn, now the name escapes me, duh! It is from 1981, anyone have a discog of Sweet G? Corny rap, sorta, but some good electronics, seems like a Pro-One is in there. Cost me 25 cents. Also, I got a record on Sal-soul called "Pulstar" with disco-ized versions of Jean-Michel Jarre's "Oxygene" and a Vangelis peice. "Oxy" starts with a good minimal electro 4OTF feel and is semi-respectful of the original JMM peice, in fact, seems to just be layered over it. Good electronic bass drum and arpeg--impressive for 1978. Whopping 50 cents. Sorry, neither record is 'intelligent' (more like 'historically amazing') but my only dj-friend-walking-encyclopedia-resource (suprisingly) doesn't know about these. I may tape them and pass them on if anyone has a cow over these...
