Wholistics: Imagine showing up for a blind date [this was a gift] where
your companion turns out not only to be a real nice looker, but one
who's comfortable burning the calories at the Grey Matter Gym. Wooo
yeah! The two of you hit it off like the beginning of a sweet dream as
you alternate from speaking in conversation to loving in dance. [B1, B2]
As the night approaches dawn, body language takes over full-time and you
lock up for what feels like eternity. [A1] In the morning you part ways
to face the inevitable lecture from Pop for staying out all night. It's
the same old routine but this time Pop sounds a bit more monotone, like
a robot even. You fight to keep from breaking into laughter, yet it's
really not that funny. Just, this morning you're feeling particularly
giddy. For good reason. ;)
Sound cryptic? Get used to it. It's the word of the day. come see:
Trainspotter Bonus Points: This 12" comes packaged wearing the spring
collection of U-TRAX sleeve wear. Thick as a pizza, simple and
recyclable with multiple CAT numbers of that White Delight Organized
Confusion. The label reveals, in the most literal sense of the word,
the EP "name." The black hole. No print and no graphics. Just a
black hole. You got that? The catalogue number, label, copyright, and
track listing is provided by the voice over by the "all around office
computer of DJ White Delight."
A1 8 minutes
This is your favorite duo sharing a pair of Trance pants. Textbook
melodic techno house trance incrementalism. 1) Oscillating LFO 2)
Tambourine 3) Handclaps 4) Kick drum and 5) Melody. Build build
build! Get buzzy! Drop the sample and "fly off the cliff". Definitely
a good listen, but not my usual mode of transportation. I have to get
used to this flying bit. :) (140+bpm)
B1.
Echoes from Tau City
Saxy synth solo galore! Royette Castle even! Three cheers for the
musician here who thankfully 'played' and not simply 'looped' the music.
I'm with it. Happy underlying organ movements insist positive thoughts.
Super lush soul power chords and a kick drum. Sound like someone you
know? Sounds like the little sister of FRG2 [Evolution] and she's my
blind date tonight. :) Gentle snare hits and cymbals keep the drum
pattern plenty 'o syncopated and tres IDM. Praise the sweetness and
light! Dare I say techno for Ballet! Ah yes, T.C.M. with a hook like
the bat of an eyelash. I'm here baby.
B2. Space Cadets on Leave
Super ace space drifts pushing up the cloud nine vibes. (Think Global.)
What an intro!! T.C.M. take me away! With a splendid grooving organ
riff and the hand of some blippy old school Warptronics "We have a
winner!" On the chord change, hold tight, for the descent of the kick
drum and UNNHH! (You all know how hard I preach for anything but the
four on the floor? Well, I'll fall to my knees if we can move it out
like this.) Blessed, forgive me for I will sin. Again, I cannot help
but think this is a close relative of FRG2. The combination of "lay you
out flat on your back" deepness and "kick your ass funky" drum track is
not a feat accomplished by any Junior Boy. These are some Dutch Masters
at Work and I'm going to buy a second copy of this to loop for at LEAST
fifteen minutes. Take me there.

"Me Babbling to You"
Hello, I am the all around office machine of "DJ White Delight". I am a
486 DX66 personal computer, but my master often calls me
"konkerahpahrant". I don't know what that means. On behalf of DJ White
Delight, I would like to thank you for buying the fifth U-Trax release,
the Utroid Machine Missions presenting to you, the Black Hole EP. It's
actually the ninth release, but the catalogue number is 5 UTR UMM 2.
I'm afraid that's just the way it is.
The Utroid Machine Missions are also known as Syndrome, Bitch and Bites,
and the Connection Machine. For obvious reasons the people behind the
project, Natasja Hagemeier and Jeroen Brandjes chose to use The
Connection Machine as their artist name from now on. It will be no
surprise that Natasja and Jeroen composed and produced all tracks and
texts. My master, DJ White Delight and his AWAX foundation brother TJ
Tape TV, mastered the tracks and did some editing too.
On the A side of the record you will hear a track called _Eight
Minutes_. In reality, it's quite a bit longer, but what the Hell. On
the B side you will find _Echoes from Tau City_ and _Space Cadets on
Leave_ and of course me babbling to you. _Echoes from Tau City_ was
previously released on the Future Classical Section C, the third release
on the famous Drome tapes cassette label. If you are interested in
Drome tapes, you can contact them by writing to P.O. Box 1224, 3500 EE
Utrecht, Holland. All tracks are recorded at the Dream Technology
Institute or DTI for short.
If you want to contact my master, you can try writing to PO box 10,152
3505 AC Utrecht, Holland or FAX to 030871168. If you fax from outside
Holland, don't forget to dial your international code first, then 31 for
Holland and the fax number without the first zero. You may also be
pleased to hear that we are currently preparing a U-Trax homepage for
the WWW on Internet. On this page you can read everything you want to
know about U-Trax and it's personnel and more, and listen to sound bits
from every released track and even from unreleased stuff. So, stay in
touch if you want to know the latest on new releases by Bishop, The AWAX
foundation, and Pieces of a Pensive State of Mind. All rights of this
record are reserved to U-Trax. Mechanical rights are dealt with by
Stemra, April 1995. All songs are published by UU Sounds BMG music.
Oh, and before I forget, one of the most brilliant records ever made in
this so called techno genre is still available. It's called _The Dream
Tec Album_ and it's made by who else but The Utroid Machine
Missions.....See you later!.
Still with me? :)
