This was also done with the vinyl release, which ensured that any LP placed
next to it would have its cover systematically destroyed. Vini was a punk,
after all.

He probably also a big fan of the Situationists, a French 'anarchist' group
of theorists from 60's Paris who published their collective writings in a
book with a sandpaper cover which, of course, would destroy any other book
next to it on the shelf. Abrasive!!
See, everything has been done before but it's just the tweaking and
appropriation that is the REAL interesting part now.
