I thought it was quite enjoyable actually. Since 'ambient house' owes so
much to Brian Eno I've always missed a band who were thinking and acting
a bit like him, i.e. taking themselves seriously. I remember the first
time I saw an interview with Dr Alex, I was very disappointed. I had
expected an intellectual, philosophical person but he appeared like a
stoned giggling idiot who just happened to have pushed the right buttons
in the studio. The Orb are just in it for a laugh. They're just clowns
trying to be a bit spectacular. Even though FSOL probably are quite
tongue-in-cheek I like their image.
