One thing that recent posts reflect, which I forgot to take note of
is that music that was played around the house (aside from the styles
you, yourself, chose to listen to) probably had a very powerful direct
influence..
My father used to play Lata Mangeshkar, Ravi Shankar, and old Indian
film music, and I know it's been a part of my musical development.
I also used to hear John & Yoko and the Plastic Ono Band - that was
one of the more prominent early musical influences.
Oh yeah, my parents used to play 'Free to be You and Me' for me on
the tape recorder - anyone else remember this?
I also used to like Peter & the Wolf and old Aesop's fables on 33..
Walt Disney records were in there too. Wow.
