hi folks, my name is greg bird and as most of you likely know by now i organize the [KONTROL] parties out of SF. once a month i also post our events to the IDM list, assuming there's at least a bit of "I" in the "DM" (i.e. Sutekh, Isolee, Donnacha Costello). my question is, if a party or the acts do not fall within the traditional scope of IDM, is posting here out of place? i don't want to be annoying or spamming people, and yet i HAVE heard from some folks that they discovered our events thru this list. this month we're featuring Mike Shannon and Dustin Zahn live. Mike plays minimal techno and house, and Dustin plays pretty much straight up techno. is this "IDM" enough to warrant posting to this list? just don't want to be interjecting crap that's unwelcome or unwanted. also, what is the standard protocol for posting events? start with "BSP", city, etc.? is there an established standard for this on this board? please advise. on another note, a couple friends and i have recently started an ambient/electronica/IDM monthly here in SF called Afterglow. since that is TOTALLY in line with the focus of this board, expect to see a monthly post from me keeping you up to date on our dates, special guests, etc. thanks, ----> greg bird www.kontrolsf.com www.afterglow.com
