Hello there IDM-list,
With this email I'd like to invite y'all to take notice of a new
foundation for 'underground electronic music and related arts' based in
the Netherlands, which is called 'Backspace' (check
http://www.backspace-event.com ).
Backspace works as a network of artists, organisations, labels, promoters,
venues, etc. and is created for the exchange of resources as well as to
help kick-start various projects and collaborations between its members.
With Backspace we are forming a community of good people that work in the
field of what we call 'underground electronics' (the genres of the more
experimental electronics/sound-art, IDM, Downtempo, Tekno, Breakcore,
Grime/Breaks, Ambient, Electro, Goa/Psy-trance, etc.) with the goal to
create a healthy and creative space for the reception and development of
these forms of electronic music and party culture in general (If you want
to know more about what we do, please read the text under about on the
website).
We're busy gathering all kinds of information, like free-dates of artists,
prices etc, and we're doing lots of shows and other projects in the near
future for which we need people to perform and help out, so it would be
great if you could contact us ASAP and provide us with the following:
*If you're an artist (audio, visual, media/performing/other-arts):
please mail to this address a link to your work/website/myspace/etc. and
your free-dates with the average fee you charge for a show and all other
preferences you might have. Please send us a mail if you're in the area
(Netherlands/Europe), because we might be able to arrange one or more
shows for you.
*If you're a label:
Please inform us of artist-free dates, fees, news on artists, releases,
etc. Also, we'd like to see if we can arrange for label-nights, so if
you're interested in arranging these with us, drop us a mail.
*If you're a promoter/organisation (especially in/around the Netherlands):
please drop us a mail, for we could work together and arrange for more
shows for artists, share flights/costs, and might be able to help each
other out by sharing our resources.
*If there's any other way you might be able to contribute to or benefit
from our organisation, have questions or have any comments on what we do,
please tell us!
