This has been explained many times before. IDM are the Warp bands from the Artificial
Intelligence series inspired by Detroit techno. "Intelligent" d&b was named by DJ Phantasy
to describe the instrumental jungle-dub tracks in 1993/94 that didn't have ravey raga raps
over them.
