I think it really depends on what it is you are doing or what you are trying
to accomplish.
I personally work from a music concrete stance (think luc ferrari for those
confused), but that doesn't mean everyone should nor would I want them to.
And I think most of us (hopefully) can tell the difference between somone
who got Acid Rock with his prepackaged computer and hasn't got a brain in
his head and someone who may utilize the same tools (or limitations) to
produce brilliant music.
If you thought for a moment about all the different ways the artists in your
cd collections produced music you'd realize Derrick may make a good personal
point for himself, but it isn't valid or necessary for everyone.
All you have to feel is that the shite has merit, and screw how its made
(unless your a gearhead and then your just overwhelmed with a nerdy
curiosity).....
