I saw ATR quite a few years back at the Opera House in Toronto, they had other DHR acts open: EQ80R, Shizuo (sp?). The show was pretty interesting. All the acts were pissed about the sound being so quiet, and then ATR took the stage and demanded the sound to increase, threatening the sound person with the mic stand. Alec took his penis out and wagged it around for a while at the Opera House manager and crew, then jumped on to the speaker stack and climbed it to hang from a little balcony.
The whole time the music was going, but the sound was so distorted that the only song you could make out was the intro drum stuff and samples to "Start the Riot!". For what it was worth though, one of the best shows I have ever seen, despite not hearing anything but crackles and clipping.
Oh yeah--at one point Alec even tried to get us to riot. Being a crowd of polite Canadians, however, we all sat around uncomfortably looking at each other. ("should we riot?", "I'm not sure, someone might get hurt...." har har).
