(idm) Re: Various Artists 8, 8.5, 9 Remixes was intellectuality

Honestly, I've listened to it only once. That said, when you play it
next to the Arovane, Monolake, and Funkstorung contributions, Ae doesn't
stand up quite as well. All the others are putting forth new sounds,
new rhythmic structures that on the surface seem fresh (Funkstorung to a
lesser degree); Ae seems to be static. It may have a lot to do with
when the tracks were recorded (time lag between their evolving musical
process and when the tracks actually see the light of day), but I was
most impressed with the Monolake bit--it's a gem.
Have yet to spin the new Arovane (FWD--will do tonight) and possess a
well-worn copy of his CCO 7-inch, but what other Arovane would people
recommend?
