Yes - I think that is so, but the querent was asking for a definition of "song" and in my book a song is a (melodic) piece of music with words which is to be sung. Sing, sang, sung, song - etymologically they all hang together. So the IDM music we listen to generally is/are best described as "tracks" rather than "songs". Thassall. I *
