all i know is that i was at wetlands on saturday night and they (coldcut) just
keep on reinforcing how completely brilliant their musical/visual melting pot of
a show really is - i am off to to buy "let us play" right now

Coldcut's Live Set : Basically what you heard (and what they are doing at
all the gigs) is a live remix of the new record. Jon and Matt have all the
parts on there computer and they feed it through a random remix software
they designed (also included with the CD of 'Let Us Play'). Matt has
everything cut on vinyl also to fill in parts if the computer is feeling
un-funky. At the gigs they collaborate with Hex who feed a lot of vocal
samples (which hook up with there visuals) into the mix. The set ranges
from funky bits to completly left-field progressive electronic bits. It's
definitly more of a sit and watch/listen kinda vibe. Kid Koala and Food
fill in the rest of the night with some party jumpin vibe.
