Hi..first post to this list...

Don't know if I'm too late to add to this? What's rocking my boat (some of these I know you lot will have gone through as classics but I'm catching up): Black Dog : Spanners (first heard them on those old Trans Europe Express comps, sadly never checked it out til now) Warp Remixes 10+3 (good if a little overlong) Pavement 'Slanted and Enchanted' Plaid : Rest Proof Clockwork (esp the secret track) and 333 Flaming Lips Blech Warp Mix Ubin : Coco Yoyo and Mongrel (http://ubin.cjb.net) Spiritual Technologies : all : Luminator : Epoch Aveugle and all at mp3.com (www.mp3.com/luminator/) The last 3 are on my webring, modulator...NOT a plug excuse, just I really like them, and I urge for you to check em out even though the last one probably isn't IDM and is more like Mogwai or Godspeed. (But if you lot can't decide what IDM is, what chance have I, a newcomer to the list of defining to it? ;-P ) Although the majority is in the scope of this list, several aren't: and that's because I don't do labels or listen to one type of music...I did think the Jim O'Rourke discussion was symptomatic of what I see so many times on other musical and non-musical lists, people chalk out a spot in cyberspace then spend all the time defending it. But anyway, someone who can cover Ivor Cutler on a major release gets my vote :-) Also great to see the ep of a friend of mine (headshell aka mark hadley) make the top ten of someone else...it's good, go buy it from toshoklabs. hugs tbc (listening to Jim O'Rourke AND Black Dog by the way. No really. :-) *this is a placcybag corporation product : don't try this at home* Tim Baker : ringmaster of modulator experimental webring * modulator radio * modul-8 mailing list * : http://welcome.to/modulator/ : http://listen.to/modulator/ : http://www.onelist.com/group/modul-8 Cosmopolitan Kitten's Thought For The Day : '?: If a cow laughed, would milk come out her nose?' --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
