I think most of Telegram is not as good as stuff to be found on the individual
2CD singles, such as the Goldie remix of Isobel (breathless shimmering thing)
or the Howie B remix of Hyperballad (redone vocals over flighty beats) or the
LFO version of Hyperballad (soaring vocals contrasted against harsh rhythmic
repetition). I also think the singles make better listening: Telegram is
harder to sit through in one sitting, maybe owing to the clashing diversity of
the styles, but I could listen to the Hyperballad or I Miss You 2CD sets all
day long. Some of her earlier singles suffered from a certain remix ODing
(remember Big Time Sensuality with six dozen samey Fluke remixes?) but the
Post singles have been very satisfying overall.
On now:: Bjork: Karvel (another b-side gem)
