I'm still contemplating a UK invasion for the Big Chill weekend (it's on the
U.S. Labor Day weekend, which unfortunately also conflicts with Burning Man,
but I guess it's 3 days without a shower no matter which way you look at it)
and am planning logistics. Does anyone have any inside scoop on where it
might be? I've been told 3-4 hours' drive from Heathrow/Gatwick, and 1 hour
from Luton International. By triangulation I'm guessing that would put it
somewhere in the pie slice to the North of Luton bounded by Milton Keynes
and Northampton up the M1 on the West side, and Cambridge up the A505 to the
East. Of course I could be completely off ...
Also, if anyone's been to previous Big Chills, are there any washup facilities
available? After even a day I get pretty rank, and would prefer to not end
up looking like one of those Traveller crusties <sarcasm> which all Goa-heads
must obviously look like </sarcasm>. A rubbing alcohol "shower" just doesn't
quite cut it. And while I'm thinking, are there any places to rent camping
gear between London and the site? I really would prefer to not bog myself
down with some big backpack/rack etc. (that I don't even own now) on the plane
over to Blighty ...
Any tales/horror-stories/advice/etc. appreciated
TIA,
- Greg
