I'm sure other people will respond here, but "Micro-phonies" is chronologically, from about the same period as "Kino" (and the rest of the "Drinking Gasoline" stuff) ~ 1983 or so. It's the same sort of thing -- long, repetitive, almost mantra-like tracks with shrill, paranoiac sounds and beats that sort of fall into the industro/hip-hop vein. And Mallinder doing more chanting/ranting than "singing."
