As far as I know, Immersion is Colin Newman's (ex-Wire) techno project.
In a way similar to all the "Drill" versions from a few years back,
Newman seems to be interested-in/obsessed-by the process of what happens
to a piece of music when you repeatedly re-do it, hand it off to
different remixers, etc. Good stuff, anyway.
