the CD came out around October 1994, the double 12" only very recently.

from what I can gather, all the odd numbered releases are intelligent beat oriented and all the even numbered ones are ambient. VSVN (very synthetic virtual noise, OR the NASA logo upside down) is pretty similar in style to Flextone. The Morphogenetic Fields album on Rough Trade is also very good although a bit more of a sampler of the different styles from IDM to ambient. I recommend both. A couple of tracks on Flextone have definite dancefloor inclinations but the BPMs are paced a bit slower and the rest of the album is mostly intelligent and experimental techno. The current beat oriented release is Interactive Music and it takes the concept of chaos and randomness in the universe for the creation of the music. It's very well done I might add. The new ambient release is called Masters of Psychedelic Ambience and is probably one if his best works to date in this genre. ___ / / / / / / _ __/ (_/__/ / (__ (__ ___/
