hello everyone i've been asked to possibly play a couple dates in germany around the second week of december. i know one is in strausberg (sp?), and im not sure about the other. im trying to put together about 5 or so shows in about 2 and a half weeks.. so if anyone is interested in having me come out, please let me know. baseck@antisocial.com. i dont need much.. just enough for travel, and floor place to crash. get in touch with seb also, cause he's trying to get together the first dates. brokenmeat69@hotmail.com also thanks for everyone who organized parties for me to play at in europe over the summer, and everyone i met. what a fuckin excellent experience. (peace off, sick & twisted, panic sauce, bass d.junkie, index recs, eiterherd, cf & rach, and everyone else who helped out.) if anyone has any contact info for the following, please let me know.. i lost all my addresses. i can get out demos to those who want to try and put together a show.. also i'll search for some links online of live sets.. for those who never heard me. i dj broken beats, breakcore-ish, some noise, and fucked electronics in a turntablist type fasion. thanks for reading, and please fwd to lists or boards who might be interested. -derrick baseck - darkmatter soundsystem - los angeles _____________________________________________ Free email with personality! Quick comment on booking Baseck... I saw him in Detroit recently and he is an absolutely captivating performer mining a niche that I've never seen explored. His turntable technique is straight out of the battle camp but his choice of source material seems to span the likes of Planet-Mu and early Industrial acts like Throbbing Gristle. In Detroit he played with Doormouse and a local goth-industrial group and those two groups had pulled in rather unique crowds for their respective acts. But when Baseck played, both crowds were stunned by his prowess and totally sucked into his demented journey. I highly recommend booking him where possible. I can guarantee you will not have ever heard a DJ set quite like his and his quality and skills are top notch.
