i was lucky enuff to be with the 808ers when they did the Megadog in manchester academy a few weeks ago as a friend of mine was doing their backline sound. I talked to graham about this new fanzine type thing, and they don't really seem to be all that personally involved in it, though that might change... It was really weird, having been a fan for years, then helping out when they had to pack up and stuff. i went back to their studio for a bit - LOADS of equipment! - and they should have an album out soon, as long as they can make a commercial single for it. I picked up a German 12" today by Mohamed called "Nam safar" (flipside mixes are rather bland bhangra/house sort of thing) with an 808 State mix on the a side - pretty much a straightforward 303 flavoured mix but I'm assuming its pretty old as A Guy Called Gerald is attributed as a member... Anyone know anything more about it?
