The relatively new reload single is named "Auto Reload Vol. 2" What was "Auto Reload Vol. 1"? or does it even exist? Also, I've been looking for Recycle or Die Cd's for a long time. Has anyone heard the ROD releases by Dominic Woosey (Neutron 9000), Oliver Lieb (Spicelab), or Ralf Hildenbeutel (Sven Vath, etc.)? There is a compilation called Silk which appears to include tracks from the previous three artists. I have Baaked Beans and Stevie Be Zet and am interested in hearing about the others. Thanks, Jonathan eabu751@orion.oac.uci.edu

Recently I came across this review: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oliver Leib: Constellation, Recycle or Die ROD003 Germany 1993 61:22 Dimension X; Secret Visitors; Spice Diving; Subsonic Interferences. Oliver Leib is better known for his predominantly hard trance output as Spicelab on sister label Harthouse. By comparison this is a extremely ambient set, conjouring up images of floating through deep space a la 2001. It's based predominantly around analogue string drones, with melodies drifting in and out and the occasional tinkling of Japanese bells in the wind. Very cosmic. Stephen Hebditch <steveh@orbital.demon.co.uk> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- this was reprinted without permission and was obtained from the uk-dance list reviews archive. It sounds good and I want to get it! ___ / / / / / / _ __/ (_/__/ / (__ (__ ___/

Yeah, those are my thoughts about it, also. I'd love to see music like this matched with film. Ridley Scott? Cameron? I wonder if the fellas (Reload, GC) have done or considered doing soundtracks? Or any IDM artists for that matter. Brad.

Well, FSoL and Richie Hawtin have both mentioned in interviews that they have the Godfrey Reggio bug and would like to score that kind of film (it was 'Baraka' in Hawtin's case but close enough). Anne Dudley, from the Art of Noise, has done considerable soundtrack work, but my ftp transfer of the ZTT discography is taking way too long for me to cite any examples. :) Pete Namlook (in collaboration? probably) has started a "Music to Films" series on FAX, I think the first release was a new soundtrack to 'Koyaanisqatsi.' Most interesting of all, IMO, is something that someone who'd just interviewed Richard Kirk mentioned to me a month or two back, that Kirk recently scored a Michael Schoenberg film called 'Souvenir.' However, I haven't been able to find any more info about this film, so any more would be appreciated. C. -- cspot@netcom.com (Chris.Hilker)........a good-foot dance in a dusted trance

I believe Richard James has had similar thoughts, though for what films im not sure. I think I remember reading that he had dubbed his music over some of his favourite films for his own home use. :: Alan M. Parry :: fluid@hyperreal.com :: <finger me for PGP key>
