So is Global Comm just DJing the NMS in NYC? Or are they doing any sort of tour? I just heard the DJ only promo of their new track and I almost feel like flying out to New York to see Tom and Mark work their magic. I'm completely in love with their music. Very cool B-Side to the 12", it looks like either Morse code or a binary message. There is no tracking, it is just a design. I'd be curious if anyone decodes it. Also, if anyone sees an extra of these somewhere, please let me know. The one I had the pleasure of listening to was someone else's. If they're doing any sort of tour (Ben, could you tap your brother on the shoulder please), and anyone has agent or booking info, give me info ASAP. Got the new muziq CD single today. Swell stuff. Surprised me that it was on R&S. I especially like "XOLBE II". Gives new meaning to background hiss. Also got an issue of "Future Music" with an interview with FSOL in it. Among other things, they dog Eat Static and Banco de Gaia, which was sort of disappointing. The new Eat Static album is just wonderful. Apparently Autechre doesn't like them either.

"Yeah, things in the distance crying with pain. We're into that!" laughs Gary. "But the techno-ethnic sound that's springing up - people really like it, but I find it cheesy and too obvious. The new Banco de Gaia album I found very disappointing, for instance, and the Eat Static stuff. It probably sounds great live through a huge stack, but not at a low level on CD. "Trans-Global Underground are very good at it." Phew, we're glad he likes something. "But the rapping on the album is very disappointing. The piano on I, Voyager is incredible. We play that a lot."
