Are there any full-lengths on vinyl? Like Alien Community, From Within, Psychonavigation, Fires of Ork, Dreamfish, etc. on 12" ??? Hopefully! I must build my ambient collection! -djkc

2 tracks from From Within were released on +8 but the pressing on one side is off center and sounds all warped. I wish those guys in Detroit would stop using that bad pressing plant! Silence, Dreamfish, Air, Fires of Ork are all full lengths that have been licensed to Rising High and they have reissued them on double 12".

Rising High have also issued the Definitive Ambient Compilations 1 & 2 each on double 12". The stuff on there is a selection of all the ambient tracks that originally appeared as extra tracks on the dance 12"s. I didn't like DAC 1 & 2 very much at all... Are the other FAX ambient collaborations better? -djkc

well, plus 8 has their plant in toronto now, so i doubt they'll still be using the plant in detroit. i know lots of copies of Vapourspace's 'gravitational arch...' 12" were pressed really poorly. its great to see richie h. frisbee his copy of grav. against the back wall of a warehouse when it skips too. :) richie has been using the new pressing plant as a space to throw the second series of "hard" parties. so, part of detroit is getting transplanted to toronto, i guess. :) chris .-'~~~-. .'o oOOOo`. :~~~-.oOo o`. --------------------------- `. \ ~-. oOOo. ----------------------------- `.; / ~. Mine is on black vinyl and I brought it back to the store for an exchange and they were all pressed that way. The pressing is more oval than round. The tonearm rocks from left to right when it plays and the sound is all warpy. If you've seen the recent +8 release of From Within, you'll know what I mean.
