Several questions here, so I thought I'd amalgamate them all into one message to save bandwidth. Firstly, does anyone (highly unlikely) have a copy of AB3 on CD they want to part with? Anyone know anyone who does? Anyone know of anywhere in the WORLD I could buy it? I suppose it's been deleted and I can't find it anywhere. How fast they disappear.... also, any word on what AB4 is? Is it like AB3, or will it simply be a CD5/EP? Also, what is APHEX TWIN CLASSICS on R&S? I saw it listed in the cdconnection europe database and I'm wondering if this is a new release. Also... for those of you who told me Colourform is being released in the US on Waveform, is there any indication of WHEN this is going to happen? I really want this album, but $32.98 is a wee bit steep and I don't want to give in and let my local record store win the battle of price tyrancy. Lastly, there are two issues concerning Lifeforms. I should be getting my copy within the week and I was wondering if the picture in Melody Maker (don't know which issue) with the little girl holding a jellyfish out on her palm, on some weird planet, with the cascade morningstarcreature's tentacles probing through the surface of the picture is the actual cover. Who did it, if so? I couldn't find any cover credits on Cascade, and it must be the same people. Second issue. I heard a vicious rumour (most likely true) that Lifeforms has been mutilated and botched to the point where Liz Fraser's vocals are no longer present. I heard that Fontana was blocking the release of the Lifeforms single because, supposedly, they wanted all the Cocteau singles to come out before it. I figured they were simply delaying it. So what's with editing the version on the album? Toni Halliday is all fine and dandy, but come on.... What a waste to throw such art away. I bet Liz and Robin and co. are re-thinking their situation with those Fontana bastards. I bet Ivo wouldn't have said anything... 4AD would be right behind Virgin in this. Damn these politics. Does anyone know if the single was completely prevented (that is, not pressed at all) or if there are a bunch of copies lying about in a warehouse somewhere. If so, where do I send my thugs to steal a few copies? Any idea if it'll be available illegally somehow? I *HAVE* to hear it. When I heard about the FSOL/Fraser union, if only for one track, I was blown away with antici---pation. Such are the pitfalls of record labels, I suppose. It won't be long until collaborations become entirely illegal altogether. :( -- A. I think ear-rational is still selling it, you can get a catalog by emailing them at ear-rational@xmission.com and type 'catalog' at the subject line. Great CD.

Does anyone know what's going to be on the Aphex Twin Classics? I'm assuming its all going to be pre SAW1 stuff since that was the last R&S release. What do you think? Tracks from Caustic Window, Pacman, and perhaps from the didigeroo EP? Or is this going to be a batch never released before? Later, Larry

It wont be caustic window or pacman. My guess would be the Xylem Tube and Digeridoo EPs stuck together. _______ (__,-, \ / /\ \ f l u i d <finger me for PGP key> /,_) \ \ flu'id (floo'-) (/ \\ brit@chopin.udel.edu :65 FD F9 9F F2 23 F8 CF: \) fluid@freezer.cns.udel.edu :80 9C 11 AA 9F 92 0D 27:

All the Caustic Window tracks I've seen have been on Rephlex, not R&S. What's Pacman...? Cosmic

Is it out yet? There's an entry for it at cdconnectioneuro. Fluid: any tips for me on how to get AB3? I'd expect that if anyone were to know how to get a copy, it would be you. -- A. I think the date for it is June 27th. It wont be Caustic Window etc. because that stuff isnt R&S, that leaves Xylem Tube, Digeridoo, and SAWI which they've already repressed.

I would try ear-rational, the info's in a previous post. Besides that, you might want to try Rephlex themselves. _______ (__,-, \ / /\ \ f l u i d <finger me for PGP key> /,_) \ \ flu'id (floo'-) (/ \\ brit@chopin.udel.edu :65 FD F9 9F F2 23 F8 CF: \) fluid@freezer.cns.udel.edu :80 9C 11 AA 9F 92 0D 27:

In the latest E/R catalog, Dave says he hasn't had any copies of AB3 for 2-3 months, and it's been deleted from his catalog, cause he doesn't think he'll be getting any more.. -- ian

Don't forget the PCP remix. And 'Phlegm,' if Richard ever delivered it.

Ear/Rational is all out according to the June update. nope, it's not. but it's inside the booklet as the center spread. the cover is the same girl holding a sea anemone in her hand.

there's no credit for that particular picture, but all the other booklet pictures are either by FSOL or Buggy G. Riphead and the center picture looks a lot more like the BGR stuff than the FSOL stuff. the cover picture on Cascade is taken from the video, which is directed by Buggy G. Riphead, so i assume he made that cool tentacled creature.

i don't know about "mutilated and botched" but Ms Fraser is not on the album, if that's what you're asking.

i believe our on-line Astralwerks pals told us that it had something to do with the Cocteaus' label demanding that Virgin (FSOL's label) allow them to release some Meatloaf/Peter Gabriel track as a single. apparently FSOL and/or Virgin were hoping to put out Lifeforms eventually but it sounds from recent reports like it just isn't going to happen at this point.

The album version doesn't sound obviously edited in any way, I'm sure it's just an alternate mix without the vocals. Toni Halliday is on a different track altogether. /jon

Isn't this 'cool tentacled creature' a brain neuron of some sort? Or something similiar, like a brain cell or thing-a-ma-bobbie? Andrew -- (c) 1994, Andrew Bennett abennett@phoenix.aps.muohio.edu

Holy sheep shit. There's a video for Cascade? Sheesh, and I'll bet that MTV Europe played this thing to death, while it probably hasn't even been played once in da states. Bah, humbug. -bob
