With regard to 'techno' artists and producers/engineers/artists...
So much of the song writing process is the ability to be a good overall
production specialist. I play keyboards about as well as I play the mixer and
all my outboard FX.. To me they are all equally important.. It's not just a
melody anymore. Our music IS part conceptual, part musical, part filmscore. In
order to orchestrate at this level the artist needs to control all of the
elements.
