Hey! I was there! It was located on the north end of the city in +8's new record pressing plant (sans machinery of course). Toronto dj's came on first and played an awful set with lots of vocals and even a few semi-commercial tunes (the grid, bks). Then ritchie came on at around 2:00 or so and started things off with some hardfloor and continued much in the same vain. It was a great set! Ritchie kept putting his finger on the smoke machine button i think because the entire time he was on you couldn't see more than a foot in front of you. Anyone else from here go to that wish to comment?? Perhaps arrange to meet at the next party? Rumour has it ritchie hawtin and john aquaviva will be doing more of these in the toronto area in the near future. karl

We're here -- just a little spoiled, tho: we get to hear Richie spin all the time ;). Last year +8 threw a series of three parties: Hard, Harder, and Hardest. Hard and Hardest absolutely ripped my brain apart, Harder got busted early on.

Apparently +8 just bought a new pressing plant in the Toronto area, so they threw this party in celebration. Reports from folks from around here who made the trip up to Toronto were quite favorable. It was mentioned on the mw-raves email list. *plug plug* Actually, from what I hear, it was a smashing event. Supposedly +8 bought a pressing plant in Toronto, and they threw a party to celebrate. Other notable IDM related mw-raves notes: Hawtin will be at Escape Velocity 4/9 in Lexington KY. BIG rave. Come. Aphex Twin is on the pre-flyer for Furthur, a 3 day rave somewhere near Chicago, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee. Drop Bass, Reactor, and MORE Productions are putting this on. 4/29-5/1. Richie Hawtin has been throwing parties all over the Detroit/Windsor area for the last few months -- last one was Hawtin, Acquaviva, and Jetstream in Windsor. I was lucky to see Riche spin a four-hour set on four turntables in London, Ontario a few weeks ago.
