Without a proper discography, my HIA collection consists of:
HIA - The total Ambient Groove volume I (live from the back of beyond)
HIA - The Total Ambient Groove II (Live from oscillate)
HIA - Speedlearn (12")
HIA - Colourform (CD)
As far as I know the first two are only available on cassette! They are also
(as far as I know) their first recordings. A few odd mixes may be found on the excellent Ambient Dub Compilations (For it is Ambient! at least in influence)
Or if you are in England see them live, they are awesome (and friendly).
The place to write to is:
HIA
c/o Beyond Records
BCM BOX 8098
Birmingham
(UK)
I think this is right (it should be on the album covers). Beyond offer a
mail order service that is run by an essential few. For the most part the
same people who run Oscillate (HIA plus one other). Word is that they are
going to release another live cassette shortly.
HIA have got to be, in my opinion, the best up and coming band on the scene.
I for one am pleased that they value their sound on CD and tape as much as
on vinyl. It shows that they are not just another DJ orientated dance troupe.
(No offense intended)....DJ's I await you hate-mail..smile :)
