the universe comp is a pretty good disc. i don't understand how they, on the liner notes, refer to the music as being tribal. i must be missing something because for the most part the disc is not tribal at all! what is going on here? manish

The marketing people probably got the word "tribal" from the original title of this disc. The original UK release was called "World Techno Tribe", on Universe/Rising High. And on my vinyl copy they're all separate tracks. Favourite tracks from the disc: XVX-1 (Illuminatae: Tremora del Tera) and CJ Bolland: Springyard Cosmic

But this was the best by far - check out Skyflyer ; Flying Deeper, another Sappho to-die-for release...... I'm suprised not everyone owns this already.. J.D.

Anyone who is really interested, if you want a tape without it mixed, I managed to get a master copy before it was digitally remixed on the CD, and I'm not sure but I think the LP might not be remixed. Alternatively, try and pick up a copy of the UK release, (World Techno Tribe on Universe/Rising High). The LP certainly isn't mixed, and I'm pretty sure the CD isn't either.... (can anyone confirm this?) Cosmic
