Volume 8
Before someone else gets it and corrects me, I looked back through Volume 8 last night and didn't find that Ready Made reference I mentioned. Perhaps it was in TEEX? Or maybe I just imagined it. Whatever. According to a reputable source, Volume 8 is coming out in the US on Caroline soon. The imports are available through Cargo at a fairly low price (if you can't wait for the import, ask your favorite shop to try to get it through Cargo dist.). I'll post a review soon. Mike J. Alan ... That's only 17 tracks! Don't worry, though. The 18th track is a 'bonus' track. I remember reading who it was by, but it slips my mind at this time. I guess it'll be a matter of buying the disc and seeing if anyone recognizes the music! ============================================================================== Ian Woodhouse mada7170@mach1.wlu.ca ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now accepting e-mail submissions for a 'zine about youth and club culture! Has anybody bought it, and if so, what's the Global Communication track like? I love Ob-selon Mi-mos.......it's got to be one of my favourite tracks of all time. Xylem Tube & Digeridoo (the one with boomerang + ayres rock as opposed to r&s sticker with Analogue Bubblebath 1 instead of Phloam) have also reappeared. Is there any difference between AB1 and Phloam? Matthew Hunter mhun@dcs.ed.ac.uk --------------------------------------------------------------

Oh yes! I think you were about to make the mistake I made and not buy the R&S import version of Digeridoo ep, thinking they were identical. They most certainly are not! AB1 isn't on the Belgian R&S. Ploam is a totally different track. And a good hard one too. Kinda similar to _Flap Head_. There is also a mistake on the labeling. Flaphead and Isoprophlex are definately on both eps, they just just disagree which one is which. I had read somewhere, years ago, that they were identical eps. Which was the reason I hadn't bought the Belgian one. I'm not sad enough to buy two identical 12"'s. Even if they are RDJ. Uh, not really IDM related, but check out the Afghan Whigs. They are a local band (Cincy) that is ready to explode. They were on Sub-Pop for a couple years, and were recently signed I think to IRS or something like that. The remix of "Rebirth of the Cool" on the _Uptown Avondale_ ep is real cool! "Rebirth of the Cool", in it's original form, is the bonus track on _Congregation_. [End plug] Andrew -- Andrew Bennett "Where's my shoe?
