more proof that SPEED is relative. . . fluid pointed out that the d-scape on the NASA cassette is nothing like the d-scape on the new aphex release, ON. . .let me offer you one alternative. . . put the new aphex track on forty five minus eight. . .sounds alot like the NASA casette eh?. . .if i remember correctly the warp release is labeled poorly so that it is unclear which two tracks appear on which side. . .and as well i dont remember a speed listed on the label, though i could be wrong . . .maybe our bro, Ben M. could settle the score considering the above. . . now is probably not a good time to come out in defense of WARP pressings but the copies of CCEP, TESTONE, PER CLONK, CLONK, AND ARCHITECTURE that i have are solid like a piece of Hadley Pottery. . .ok you don't know what the hell that is?. . .what i'm sayin is those are *THE* thickest 12"s that i own. . .the grooves are impeccable. . .deep and flawless. . . I DONT doubt MALCOMS word that the album is faulty but i dont think WARP has a rep for poor pressings. . .perhaps he was commenting on the tiny grooves of the compilations which are unavoidable unless they break the material up onto two pieces of wax. . (which seems to be the current trend) here again consider this. . .maybe the off-center press is intentional some will laugh at this suggestion . . .but remember, they laughed at Mingus once too. . .avant-garde ideals are constantly under fire . . . but i'll side with the progressive, experimental, and unorthodox artists any day. . .their minds are open. . .(and they throw great parties ;) pardon me. . . i'm going home now to play all my records on the *wrong* speed ;) TeeP from the Webster's. . . warp, v. 1. bend out of shape; distort
