i too was disappointed w/ this 12". though you should take into consideration that the isophlux 12" was only the release of a demo. i'm still going to get the Orange 12". After I saw Lexaunculpt perform for the first time, I told him that I wanted to get his single. And even he dissed it a bit, because it was a very early recording when he first got his computer. From my understanding he never intended to release it, but Shad T Scott from Isophlux wanted it out on his label. I think it's a pretty good 12". I am definitely glad that I have a copy of it. His newer material is far better than those early recordings. He has come a long way since those early recordings and everytime I see him perform he has new tracks that are great. There will be a Kid606 remix 12" ep coming out in May on Vinyl Communications that will feature the aforementioned Lexaunculpt remix as well as a Matmos remixes and a bunch of K606ized locked grooves. I've just been exposed to Lexaunculpt and got to admit that I'm amazed - it is really beautiful, especially slow tracks. However, it is not what I was going to say. I felt that it is very alike to Ae. Approach to sounds, melodies, mood. Very similar. Yet it is not seen by me as someting bad. They are really close to Ae not in the sound itself but in the quality (if that word might be used for music). They seem to feel what reality Ae were in while making their tracks. They see idm not as a assembly of bleeps and blops - it is the world made through the minds of dudes with sound computer. I got to admit that my approach to previous thread "Ae clones" was rather simple for me - clones are bad and Ae cannot be cloned. Now I see that my favs might be used as background for new music roots. It is really good. Alien
