wanted to send out a little early warning about an upcoming show at NECTAR
The --Juan Maclean-- is coming to Seattle on **Sept.10..... as a live band!!!
For those that are not familiar, John Maclean is the co-founder of DFA records in NYC. Home to LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR, and many others. The DFA house band that plays with James Murphey when he tours as LCD SOUNDSYSTEM is coming with John Maclean as THE JUAN MACLEAN-live band. These are the same folks that play with HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR and any other DFA artist that tours as a live act. If you have not had a chance to check them out, I HIGHLY recomend doing so. This is truly live electronic music. They bring a sound that is similiar to seminal bands like DNA, LIQUID LIQUID, and late 70s TALKING HEADS....funky, edgy, and groovy as hell.!!
..... this is a very rare opportunity to catch this type of show from these guys. The last time THE JUAN MACLEAN toured was almost 5 years ago and this is his first live tour in as many years...
and to top it off we have Portland electro- key-tar master COPY joining the fraucus; as well as local band HEAD LIKE A KITE.
this should make for an amazing night of music and with Nectar's new soundsystem, will also be a bass- heavy dance night to remember!!!
