So exacty what kind of computers and things are being used by IDM artists? I know Macs are big, but are they the same as any Mac you can buy out of the store, or are there some special add-ons like sound cards and stuff? Also, what are the advantages of Macs vs. PCs and vice versa? I am looking to get a new setup, but I am not sure where to look for good, relevant information. Any suggestions? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

shop around. I prefer mac over pc cause i like the interface better, but there are more pc hardwares and softwares available at your disposal. and cheaper. quality? depends on you, really. it's all in how you produce what you write. Like i said, shop around, figure out what you want to do with it and how much you are willing to spend. then go from there. you really shouldn't take anyones advice to seriously as mentioned on the IDM making list, i forgot who said it. Basically, the person ended up not liking what everyone recommended. use other peoples equipment if they will let you to get a feel for what you are comfortable with. on 5/20/01 8:05 PM, j tonsfeldt at jshtnsfldt@hotmail.com wrote:
