a little about our guests......
L'USINE (ghostly international-SEA)
Like a warm breeze in the middle of winter, Jeff Mcllwain, a.k.a. Lusine, drifts through the depths of faceless techno with music that combines graceful, wafting melodies with a dancefloor sensible four/four rhythm. Following the success of his 2004 LP Serial Hodgepodge, Mcllwain continues to work with an unpredictable repertoire of instruments, pairing rigid synths with tinkling bells and dark melodies that resonate above ethereal chords. A marriage of extremes, but we wouldnt have it any other way
OBELUS (basskamp-SEA)
is the Seattle based live electronica duo of Adam Pessl and Jason Goessl. Played through the traditional instrumentation of guitar, bass, keyboards and other assorted noise makers, Obelus takes these familiar sounds through a matrix of samplers, effects, and sequencers to recombine them into an eclectic mix of tempos, textures, and moods. These electronic collages are best described as lush ambient synthesizer and bass driven loops propelled by complex rythm progressions. The skilled use of electronic and acoustic drums, circuit-bent keyboards, MIDI guitar, and samples takes the listener on a sonic escape to the untempered regions of musical imagination, yet Adam and Jason remain live and in the moment
