I'm lucky enough to have a record store nearby that stocks all the stuff I need. I used to buy online alot, but I never do anymore. It's just too much risk with the postal service etc.. More of a specialty shop than a full-on distributor, the Neferiu shop (www.neferiu.com) carries quality local calgary hiphop and experimentaly minded electronic music projects not directly related to the Neferiu label, but still worth noting. I highly recommend the Tetrix 5 album for weirdness - or Planit "Onword" for avant garde hiphop electronix. Cheers, Mantrakid www.neferiu.com wells oliver wrote:

Norman Records (UK) http://www.normanrecords.com stock lists are always updated. service and communication are above everyone else i've dealt with. reviews are something to look forward to each week! i've been dealing with them for years, so i almost buy exclusively from them. if they don't have it / can't get it for me, then: Boomkat (UK) http://www.boomkat.com Scratch Records (Canada) http://www.scratchrecords.com/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "wells oliver" <wells@submute.net> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, September 30, 2005 2:08 AM Subject: [idm] Ordering stuff online?

Yeah, the new Kallikak Family album is really nice. Don't be scared away by the word "family" in the name, as it's definitely not folk music! And I think it's mostly made by just one guy. I can see how some people might say it's similar to The Books, since it has a couple of tracks with acoustic guitar. But the majority of the album is ambient drones, field recording, and strange noises. And despite the overall experimental vibe, it also manages to be catchy and emotionally moving. Overall, this is a pretty unique release... Perhaps similar in spirit to the lo-fi, non-pretentious experimental music on Lucky Kitchen. Todd
