i don't see that as an either/or proposition. i'd certainly heard of DM before TG, but i probably got into AE through AFX because "come to daddy" made sense to me as the next step after the better EBM stuff i liked but which had ceased being good or progressing anywhere. so to me it's all good stuff...pop, noise, beats, metal machine music, whatever. i'd actually like to hear AE remix DM, that would be sweet. their beats are so rigid, to recontextualize the vocals and hooks with some crazy crunching glitchy turnaround rhythms would be great. d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Heh- heh! The only thing with DM is i can't stand the vocals much... (Not that Genesick P-Orridge is a songbird)... However, a remix of 'Master & Servant' by AE could possibly be the BOMB! (i did dig the Adrian Sherwood RMXs of this from ages ago) np: Depeche Mode---"Are People People?" Depeche Mode isn't so horrible but all I know are the singles. Recently I was trapped in a someone's car who was playing a live album of theirs and I must say that their "album material" is pretty dreadful...and his crooning...I can still hear it in the back of my head...
