Musicians, bring at least 10 copies of your demo on CDR (with your 3 best tracks) to share with the people you'll meet and you'll get in free. The Modsquare Netlabel will be launched with two albums, the first initially released last year, Ctrl-F2, and the second to be released on Tuesday, Ctrl-Space. Live laptop sets from two Chicago-natives will be featured during the evening. Miles Tilmann, who has contributed a track to Ctrl-F2, has recorded for such labels as Consumers Research, Semisexual, and Toytronic. His latest EP has been described as "uplifting melodies, rhythms, chords, and beats inter-spliced with ambient interludes" by Staticbeats, and his tour last year with Merck recording artists Mr. Projectile and Adam Johnson garnered him a slew of new fans. Justin McGrath, with a track on Ctrl-Space, fuses deep, symphonic atmospheres and melodic exploration with crunchy, skittery beat patterns to create an equally emotional and heady experience. DJs M50 (of WNUR, illmeasures, Meiotic and subVariant) provides sonic interludes and finishes the evening while Liz Revision (aka Quantazelle, of subVariant, and editor-in-chief of Modsquare) opens for the live artists by including tracks from the two releases in her set. Ctrl-F2 artists: Atropa, Equulei, M.Mercer, Kero, Miles Tilmann, Quantazelle, R.Garcia, Flashbulb, Atomly, Mochipet, Dave Olson, and Praveen Sharma. Ctrl-Space artists: Justin McGrath, DoF, Max Spransy, Proswell, Set In Sand, Wisp, DCJ, Yard, Daenra, Loves Not Dead, The Deep Element, and Phylum Sinter. --------------- About MODSQUARE MODSQUARE is a Chicago-based online magazine covering the most influential and innovative developments within experimental and abstract electronic music, its culture and enabling technology.
