Considering the 20 or so CD's I order a week I think it's well near impossible to narrow it down to 10 albums for all of 2004. Instead, here is a preliminary list of 20 albums that were streamed on StaticBeats during the past year that continue to get heavy playback in my car, at home, and at work. Much of this list has been culled from the archives: http://www.staticbeats.com/update/albums.php edIT - Crying Over Pros for No Reason (Planet Mu) Arovane - Lilies (City Centre Offices) Helios - Unomia (Merck) Stendec - A Study of 'And' (Expanding) Mr. Projectile - Sinking (Merck) Adam Johnson - Chigliak (Merck) Erast - Goodair + Minimissing (Laboratory Instinct) Claro Intelecto - Neurofibro (Ai) Ai Records - Station (Ai) Beans - Shock City Maverick (Warp) String Theory - Radiovalerian (Wobblyhead) Home Video - Citizen EP (Warp Records) Himuro - Clear Without Items (Couchblip!) Prodigy - Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (XL) Freeform - Wildcat (Skam) Marshall Watson - The Time Was Later Than He Expected (Highpoint Lowlife) Blockhead - Music by Cavelight (Ninja Tune) Wagon Christ - Sorry I Make You Lush (Ninja Tune) Shadow Huntaz - Corrupt Data (Rephlex) Headset - Space Settings (Plug Research) There's probably about a hundred more that'll come to mind over the next couple weeks but this is what I could come up with during the 30 minutes I've taken from my job to write it up ;-) Shimone/Justes http://www.staticbeats.com Electronic Music > Digital Culture http://www.boomboombap.com First Come > First Heard --- Greg <cameron69@comcast.net> wrote:

Yeah, I love him. I keep hoping he'll be able to come play in the States again. Hopefully NYC, but I think I'd fly anywhere to catch a show with him. And Beyond The Stars is his best album yet. Totally beyond my utopia, if you know what I mean. -Adam kiya i am a copier babzani wrote:

yeah, i've never seen him, he always plays countries that i don't normally travel to.. if he came to the US i'd definitely fly out to see him live. you think beyond the stars is his best? i'm not sure, i can't decide, the huge sound on Out of Nowhere really got to me.. i loved it.. the strange lyrics on Organism, the rock-jazz sound on Higher Planes, the weird experimental electronic stuff he tried with Utopian Dream.. i think that must be my favorite. it was his most fragmented release, and it really was the only one where i felt he took all his sounds and tried to work them together. he's all over the place. i really am curious where he's gonna go after Beyond the Stars.. jimi # 1. -kiya ----- Original Message ----- From: Adam Piontek <adam@damek.org> To: kiya i am a copier babzani <denial@ix.netcom.com> Sent: Friday, December 17, 2004 9:03 AM Subject: Re: [idm] Top 10 2004 - Jimi Tenor
